A BitPay alternative for merchants paid in USDT

BitPay is one of the longest-running crypto payment processors, with daily settlement to bank accounts in several currencies. If your customers pay mostly in USDT and your orders are small, the fee structure and settlement list matter more than the brand. Here is a factual comparison as of October 2026.

We run Satqo, so read this with that in mind. BitPay figures come from its public pricing page as checked in October 2026; the link is at the end. BitPay notes that higher fees apply to high-risk industries; those are not covered here.

Two fee structures, two kinds of merchant

BitPay prices by monthly volume, with a percentage plus a fixed fee per transaction. Under USD 500,000 a month, the listed rate is 2% + 25¢; from USD 500,000 to 999,999 it is 1.5% + 25¢; from USD 1,000,000 it is 1% + 25¢.

Satqo charges a flat 0.5% of each incoming payment, with no fixed part, no monthly fee and custom rates above USD 10,000 a month. The payer covers the network fee of their transfer.

The fixed 25¢ matters most for small orders. On a USD 5 purchase it alone is 5% of the price. That is why the comparison looks different for a shop selling USD 5 digital items than for a merchant closing USD 5,000 deals.

At very large volumes BitPay's rate falls to 1% + 25¢, and Satqo offers custom rates above USD 10,000 a month, so large merchants should ask both for a quote.

Who each one suits

BitPay is the stronger option if…

  • you need crypto payments turned into money in your bank account automatically, every day, in one of its settlement currencies; Satqo does not settle to banks;
  • your customers pay in Bitcoin, which Satqo has not enabled yet;
  • you prefer a provider with a long track record with larger merchants.

Satqo is the stronger option if…

  • your customers pay in USDT, especially on TRON, and you want to keep USDT;
  • your orders are small and a fixed fee per transaction eats into margin;
  • you want no-code tools: invoice links, reusable pay buttons (pay.satqo.com/b/CODE), a POS screen and your logo on the payment page;
  • you want to pay suppliers in stablecoins or spend with a virtual card from the same balance instead of going through a bank.

How to switch, step by step

  1. Open a free account at dash.satqo.com; there is no setup fee.
  2. Decide what you do with stablecoins. Without bank settlement, plan where funds go: keep them, pay suppliers, sell on an exchange you use, or spend with the card.
  3. Integrate: create an invoice per order with the API and handle the signed webhook, or paste a pay button into your site if you sell a few fixed-price products. See the API reference.
  4. Run a test order end to end, including a payout to your own wallet.
  5. Offer both for a while if some customers pay in coins Satqo does not support.
